| About Me: |
I am an American artist born in Columbia, Missouri in 1977. I first gained exposure as a fine artist in Saint Louis, and then became a highly successful artist in both the national and international art scene since 2002. Many have recognized me as an emerging figure in contemporary art, and my various mixed media artwork continues to bring a fresh ideas into the ever changing art world.
As an artist, I find myself focused on and fascinated with people, places, politics, religion, and the e ...morenvironment. I welcome the challenges and try to maintain a controlled pursuit of my passion as I look to further educate myself through art as well as my audience. I am currently working in multiple mixed media processes, utilizing a sophisticated expression of traditional and non-traditional elements in drawing, painting and divisive installations.
Best descriptions of my artwork include methodical, meticulous and mind-bending. The intricate process is detailed, slow and deliberate. I envelop the entire composition, detailing section by section until individual portions of the work become unified. My goal is to truly capture the essence of the imagery by using an original distinctive approach in today‘s all-inclusive and exclusive world of art.
In June of 2006, I completed my Master’s of Fine Art degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design (S.C.A.D.). Before starting my M.F.A., I earned a B.F.A. from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2002. Today, I am a consultant and curator for the Third Floor Gallery in Saint Louis, MO, an educator and an internationally represented fine artist. Since 2001, I have been lucky enough to participate in thirteen solo shows, over sixty juried group exhibitions, and also have artwork represented in multiple corporate and private collections worldwide. less |
