Hi Tracy, really like your drawings. WB sometime. John

Thank you guys. I don't know why I'm first bearbear. I've never won a single contest here. Ever heard of gestural drawing? I think that all the entries here show talent. And there are some nice folks here which is the only reason I'm here.

3/31/2009 7:29 AM

3/31/2009 2:37 AM
oh and aprildowling, you need some work concerning your light source, and the SVPs. I'd expect more reflection on the swan in the foreground...

3/31/2009 2:34 AM
Congratulations! Good to hear!

3/30/2009 7:26 PM
Thanks! I never win these contests but I did just win an award of merit today from curator Ron Platt of the Birmingham Museum of Art. Now that was a sweet chunk of real money. Good for the resume too!

Ballet dress is the winner in my book! It really is a simple (yet awesome) sketch. All work is inspiring and some is masterful. A joy to be here...I know i'm in the right room!

3/30/2009 3:59 AM
Jellybug, you'll have to go back a few pages of conversations for that answer.

The harbor scene is gorgous.

3/29/2009 9:01 PM

3/29/2009 6:56 PM
(lol) "those" on the journey... I must be in the wrong room...

3/29/2009 6:54 PM
Artists not being passionate? Artists not voicing their opinions? Artists not being sensitive concerning their own effort and of efforts made by thouse on a journey to become an artist?

3/29/2009 2:49 PM
Playground looks like you are a very talented artist! Nice work

3/29/2009 2:24 PM
Phew...Thanks:) It is now perfectly clear! I enjoy this site and the many talents here.

3/29/2009 12:12 PM
What's a troll? Is it droll? Does it lol? I don't know that combativity belongs in art...Maybe I'm a troll and I didn't know it!...LOL!

3/29/2009 8:20 AM
Sorry, I just would really, really appreciate it if things like this did not end up in the comments list, which -should- be about our thoughts on pictures our process, not other people!

3/29/2009 8:16 AM
Yes, because the rest of us 'saints' and 'victims' are so chill and hip the last three pages of drama, baiting, and name calling are all just a dream.....seriously. We all agree the first comment was rude - but who needs to chill now?

3/29/2009 5:33 AM
April, your swans are very nice. However, I don't believe it's any better than many of the sketches here. Take a chill pill for humility.

3/28/2009 5:51 PM
I like his for looking almost photorealistic, and looking more complicated than it actually is if you look up close. The eyes are just blocks of black but it's very effective. Pretty swans, btw :)

3/27/2009 7:15 PM
April, I'd love to see your better art. Unfortunately you have no media on your page. Why are you being so hostile?

3/27/2009 4:34 PM
PS folks, I removed the French horn and posted this harbor scene not for votes but to challenge aprildowling.
