As long as it's you shooting your own images and doing your own lab work - i.e., dark room w/enlargers or CS3 - there is no contest; you are an artist creating art. A camera, much like a brush, is simply an extension of the artist's hand.

It is showing the world a different way to view everything around us, and within us. If that is true, then why do people argue over which is better? It is all a part of who we are, as artist...and it shouldn't matter what the medium is.

So sorry that I offended you vicnjum618. I do paint and draw, but have rediscovered photography in the last 2 years. I personally think that art in general is reproducing or creating the beauty that we each see.

Relax, Terry. 2D art at Taltopia is dominated by photography, so you're in good company. Come to think of it, with all this digital artwork floating around out there, it's high time I dusted off my Nikons and started shooting the place up.
