Thanks all, I read about coma's picture, and his is wild like he said too. And I love the almost human shot. Great detail.

none of my attempted raccoon shots ever came out. I do have a lot of raccoon "tail" shots and blurs ;) For the record, my little monkey was completely out in the wild along with his immediate family (and a baby ).

Wow lots of comments :) - itsmymoment, I love yours. I'd never even seen creature like that before! and Grumsby, your shot is great too! We have a racoon that goes through our birdfood where I live but she only does it at night. -->

Plus, I know both the bird pictures are not zoo pics

The reason I could get this shot is because this one comes and eats worms after the sprinklers are done. Very smart animals, and timid. Not a Zoo animal. The contest says WILDLIFE so mine is wild.

Whatever you guys think. I spent a lot of time getting my shot, well over 20 shots taken, most were no good because these things move so fast. And most of the time raccoons are nocturnal.

Itismymoment, thanks for your quick response I know at worst, these photographers are better than average people. But to take the kind of award winning pictures i am talking about ,takes days of planning, execution & post editing

for example, the blurry picture of an orang with her baby, is no art at all. just a picture taken at a zoo, taken by petsmagicsound. Please dont be discouraged. you are good. I was just looking for a lot more 116 votes?? give me a break

please dont think I am putting anyone down. I think there are a lot of great talents here. I always try to be true to myself and others.

sory to sound not so positive, I just do think the contests are what I am looking for. I am an artist, I like to create something new, not an old looking same thing. More power to the photographers on this site, but I want much higher bars.

please blow up all pictures before you decide, so you can see the details. Anyone can go to any zoo and shoot pictures . It is a whole different ball game to take pictures of animals, specially insects, in their natural habitat

there is nothing special about most of the pictures. They are like pictures taken at a zoo. mine is the result of may hours of work
