Art has an important role in my life. It has helped me beyond belief. I have used art to express emotion's that I have been unable to put word's to. It has allowed me to express myself through many tragedies in my life.
I am a survivor of child hood physical and sexual abuse.
I would continue to survive, with the help of art, through a physically, emotioally, and sexually abusive marriage. It would come to help me through the powerful hold of an eating disorder and the loss of my daughter ...more.
My little angel Kaitlyn is my inspiration. She inspires me to keep going when I just want to give up. She is inspiring me to put myself and my art out into the world. She inspires me to begin to use my voice. To believe that I deserve to have good in my life. To believe that I can be successful in my life and that I am not someone who was put here for people to abuse. That I can put my art out there for people to see; regardless of rejection, with the hope of helping someone. If I can inspire even one person to not give up then all of those horrible and painful times in my life will have been worth going through.
Kaitlyn was still born at 8 1/2 months. She was diagnosed with trisomy 18 in my fifth month of pregnancy. She held on and fought as long as she could. I can not even describe how heart- breaking it is to have to plan your child's funeral before they are even born.
Kaitlyn would be six year's old now. I have many low's and day's where I want to give up and be with her. I am using every bit of strength I have to fight that thought right now.
I believe that this is a gift of time to grow and gain strength. A time for me to find my purpose in life. A time to do what I love. A time to fight and recover.
Putting myself out here for everyone to see is terrifying. I am going to do this for her until I am strong enough to fight for me.
Art allow's me to see the most beautiful thing's and the most important thing's in this world. This is my way of capturing the important thing's so that other's can see what "important" really is. To share that beauty.
