Well it's been a long road but after almost two years of hard work and some heavy doses of reality I'm pleased to bring you this CD. Some of the music is whimsical in nature such as Once Upon A Time which is a twist on the old Mother Goose faire tails. Indecently the little girls voice at the beginning of that song is my daughter Melissa. I like to think the nut didn't fall to far from the tree. Good job honey. :)
Much of it is really the manifestation of a butt load of pain. :( Not surprisin ...moregly I incorporate a hint of blues to the mix. As a whole however the music takes on more of a southern / hard rock sound. Even a bit of country. The devout might want to avoid the latter. I've got something to say about organized religion. :|
The music really represents much of what's been going on with me in the last few years. I have to tell you, who I was two years ago versus now is a stark contrast. I was a software engineer with a big house, pretty wife, kids and some bitchin toys. But the marriage went to hell, the career followed and not much more then a year ago I found myself without electricity and actually scrounging up wood in my back yard to keep out a winters chill. :( I know life has its ups and downs but I can't remember fate having jerked a knot in my tail as hard as that. And though I may not have the good life as I once did. Now like then I can laugh and find reward in the things I do.
This CD is my story. If you're inclined to listen I would say this to you. It's music from a real person. I'm no rock star. I don't have a bathroom that seats ten or hang out in the cOoLeSt bars. I'm just a dad that busts his ass to keep a roof over his boys head and put some food on the table. When I was young I used to dream about making music and maybe forge a name for myself. Somehow that just kind of faded away as I got older. Well I'm picking that ball back up.
