| About Me: |
I was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts. My art career began at the age of seven when I would sit quietly watching my uncle Alan Ferris, JR., paint in his Cape Cod studio. I sold my first oil painting of the ocean at the early age of nine. After high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps and painted and drew the majestic scenes of California’s mountains and seascapes. After my discharge, I returned home to my Cape Cod roots to attend college where I received a strong classical education ...morein drawing and painting. In 1978, I entered the world of exhibiting my artwork in several art galleries around the New England area. After which, I furthered my training at Bridgewater State College, studying to become a High School Art Teacher.
Though I work primarily in oils and pencil, I believe my images are sharply defined and capture the essence of detail in the subject. The images of dilapidated barns, vivid mountain scapes, fields, streams, animals, and seascapes continue to be the subject matter of much of my artwork. My paintings, drawings, and illustrations are on display in many private and corporate collections, along with art galleries/gift shops throughout the United States, Germany, and France among others.
During my spare time I continue working in my office/studio in Benson, NC, pursuing a full-time career; Artwork by Ronald Lunn.
