| Whether it’s Song Writing, Producing, Group leading or Rapping, Famous Tay can do it all and more. He has been considered as "extremely talented and outgoing", and even "one of the best of his generation". Growing up in Harlem, New York, music was all around Taylor Turnage (best known as "Famous Tay", "Tay WordPlay" or "Tay”. At the age of 12, music and entertainment consumed him and he began writing songs and performing under in the group name LAVISH AVE. During this time (referring to himself ...moreas Richie Rich), Taylor was enrolled in Horace Mann Private School in Riverdale, New York where classical and alternative music thrived. His 1st official audience was at a school graduation. Famous Tay also wrote several songs for school functions and get-togethers. Soon after his 13th birthday, he pursued editing and emceeing in rap and hip hop. In the same year he switched from private to public school. This change of pace meant a new audience and a broader sound for him to engage. He was determined to do something no one else had. In 2004, he began working with another young rapper. They started a group named NYC or New Young Creations and have recorded countless freestyles and full length tracks. Although it may have seem the duo was on the verge of success in 2008 when Jake Records hinted in signing them, the deal fell though in early 2009 and the group parted ways due to various conflicts. Since the break Famous Tay had been writing and recording non-stop and plans to drop a mixtape in the summer. This said to be self-entitled project will have many different styles and sounds and is said to include works such as "Dressed to Impress", "Mag1c M1rror", and "Stuntin on Hoes Freestyle" less |
