Description

I have been trying to get a good photo of this shy little bird for about 3 years now! It's only about 2 or 3 inches long, extremely shy, and the most beautiful shade of blue! This photo shows both the male and female (who mate for life)!

Like Robins, Cardinals, Peacocks, Turkeys, Chickens, Ducks, etc., the males have brighter plumage, to attract females, who in turn have softer color, intended to protect them and the nest from predators. These are just beautiful creatures!

The one looking towards us is the male, and the other one is the female...she has a little more gray (wouldn't you know it...living with a "male" turns you gray! LOL!)
