DC Smithsonian Museum of American History

National Museum of American History Hugo Pegley The Smithsonian Museum of American History is located in Washington D.C. It was first opened in 1964 as It was built by famed architect McKim Mead & White. It was renamed in 1980 as The name still stands. The museum underwent an $85 million renovation recently. According to Wikipedia, there are about 5 new features, including a new five-story sky-lit atrium that is surrounded by displays of artifacts that showcase some pieces of the museum's collection. 1 Floor: On the 1 floor, in the east wing, the exhibits mainly focus on vehicles and electronic inventions. The famous John Bull locomotive is housed there. 2 floor The second floor of the National Museum of American History focuses mainly on American artifacts. Everything from the Gettysburg Address (on loan from the White House) to the original Star Spangled Banner Flag are located here. There is also a new store and welcome center. 3 Floor The 3 floor focuses on America at War. One of the exhibits is entitled The Price of Freedom: Americans at War. Another, The American Presidency: A Glorious Burden. The first exhibit talks about America throughout several wars. The second exhibit talks about the 44 men who have served as president, and their actions. Come visit the National museum of American history! The Museum of History and Technology.
