	Description Original oil on canvas, image: copyright 2003 Patrick Pierson This image represents my re-imagined take on Da Vinci's 'John' with an androgynous twist: aspects of the figure's physique - especially the lower torso - reflect a more female orientation. Leo would be furious with me, yet, he probably would have seen the irony and embraced what I have done.

Okay, it's really 'Joan the Baptist:' the giveaway is in the lower torso. I think Leo would've enjoyed my little androgynous slight-of-hand, don't you?

Da Vinci may have been obsessed with the 'John finger,' but I painted my John pointing at the moniker I use to sign all my work, which incorporates my initials - P for Patrick; A for Anthony; and P for Pierson - and the symbol for fish.
