This painting conjures the spirit of the Ancient Egyptian MYSTERY SCHOOLS, specifically, the legend of the goddess Isis, her consort Osiris and their son Horus. The statuesque reincarnation of the god Osiris, crouching behind Isis, has black skin, as did the Osiris of legend, but in this version - my take - he is a mermalien from the realm of Aquaria (something like Atlantis).
