Description
This is still Tempe's current water supplier this canal was created in December 1870 as the Hardy Irrigation Canal Company . A month later, the company's changed the name to the Tempe Irrigation Canal Company because the company president B. W. Hardy had resigned. Within two years, the canal served more than 5,600 acres of land. It was also the example for the many fresh water canals running thru the Phoenix valley
