Description
This track is about smooth jazz that thinks outside of the elevator. My inspiration for this track was the sound of the slap bass style. Building my notes around that idea, I added instrumentation that would be complementary. After finishing the form, melody, and phrasing, I began the solo section. As I was creating my phrases I realized I had quoted Miles Davis. When I had finished I realized that my composition found itself centered around this one classic phrasing. A simple idea turned into a stream of unconscious thought and ended up with a very cool sound. Some might even go as far as to call it Slappy Groovintine.
