Part of Alex­an­dria's UNAN­I­MOUS STAY per­for­mance the­sis in the God­dard Col­lege MFA in In­ter­dis­ci­plinary Arts.

UNAN­I­MOUS STAY was orig­i­nal­ly a term used by as­tro­nauts and their ground base to sig­nal that ev­ery­one was go­ing ahead with the mis­sion, in spite of cer­tain per­il. I found this term a de­light­ful metaphor for our glob­al com­mu­ni­ty and col­lec­tive (un)con­scious.

Church of Rock and Roll is a vi­su­al state­ment chal­leng­ing the idea of re­li­gion as true spir­i­tu­al in­spi­ra­tion. In­stead it sug­gests that sym­bol­ism is in fact repet­i­tive and true strength­en­ing of spir­it comes from the am­bi­tion to cre­ate, ex­pe­ri­ence and be en­light­ened by mu­sic. This video al­so sug­gests that The Church of Rock and Roll wel­comes all souls, and is of­ten rep­re­sent­ed by Rebels who have faced great hard­ship and were saved by mu­sic.

The the­sis is pre­sent­ed as sev­er­al ob­ser­va­tions of life on Earth, rang­ing from the Galac­tic Pro­ces­sion The­o­ry, life cy­cles, and hard facts from sta­tis­ti­cal stud­ies gath­ered by hu­man­i­tar­i­an or­ga­ni­za­tions.
