Description
The Half Moon Art Studio is a small, family run company based in New York State’s Hudson River Valley. Originally created in 1998 by artist Nancy Campbell as a working art studio and art gallery in the village of Saugerties, New York, the Half Moon has expanded its reach and will set sail across the ocean to include Italian partners, based in Serrone, Italy, who are also members of the founder’s extended family. Giulio Tirinelli, the Italian based coordinator for Half Moon Art in Italy, is Nancy’s second cousin on her father’s side.
Nancy Campbell is a painter who works primarily in oils. Her subject matter is inspired by her surroundings, whether the small village of Saugerties, where she has lived for most of her life, or the hills of Italy which she visited for the first time during the 1990s when she lived in Europe with her husband Michael and their three sons. Nancy has also worked as a volunteer in her community working on various projects including establishment of a Farmers Market, leading a village business group, and serving as an elected councilwoman on the Saugerties Town Board. Currently, Nancy is Executive Director of the Woodstock School of Art, a not-for-profit art education institution located in Woodstock, New York.
