hailey my cuz helped me to write it she sent me a bunch of text messages and i just took bits and parts of them. this song to me means sometimes you have problems that are hard to talk about and even if you told someone it would be like even if they were listening they wouldnt be able to grasp your true meaning of the problem hence the title deaf ears the chorus states how you wish someone could peel the layers of the disguises everyone has to see the real person underneath and how sometimes you turn to things alcohol or pills instead of people to vent your problems and it shows how they can in a way take them away but the solo shows how those things leave you inside screaming out but its like no one really can hear you when you have gone so far as to use substances to try and comfort yourself probably the saddest song on the cd.
